Computer Use Policy

As a fulfillment of our mission statement, we are dedicated to meeting the informational, technological and cultural literacy needs of all age groups in a variety of formats. The Feleti Barstow Public Library provides computers and Internet access to its patrons as an enhancement to its role as a community information center.

Computer use in the library is a privilege. It is in a public environment shared by people of all ages with a variety of information interests and needs. To ensure an efficient and productive computing environment FBPL insists on cooperative computing by its patrons. All computers in the library are subject to monitoring.

The Feleti Barstow Public Library does not guarantee that its computers will be available when the library is open. FBPL frequently reserves the lab for classes and workshops. Computers are also subject to “down time” and Internet service. The library shall not be liable for any loss or damages, directly or indirectly, to users’ data or disks. The content of the information on the Internet is not regulated. Not all information is reliable or accurate. The library is not responsible for sites accessed on the Internet, nor the confidentiality of transactions over the Internet.
