Library Tours

The Feleti Barstow Public Library welcomes groups of all ages to learn more about the many resources the library has to offer. Tours last 45-60 minutes and can focus on a particular subject or part of the collection, can include a story reading, arts and craft activity or a research skills session.

Research Tours

School classes are welcome to use the library during school hours for class research projects. Specific tours are usually customized for the group’s area of interest. An official school administrator/staff member must accompany and remain with the class at all times.

Please note: School age children are allowed in the library on school days during school hours only with an official written school pass, accompanied by a school official, adult guardian or caregiver, or with a written parental permission.

Guidelines for all Tours

Reservations should be made at least one week in advance, and are on a first come, first served basis.

Leaders should be aware of proper library behavior and supervise children accordingly. We recommend 1 adult per 15 children. For children younger than six years old we recommend 1 adult per 8 children.

Please factor in transportation so that the tour will begin on time.

The length of the tour depends on the attentiveness of the participants and the amount of questions to be answered.

Please call at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your tour. In turn, the library will contact you within twenty-four hours of any change in a scheduled tour.

If participants intend to checkout books after the tour, children under 18 years old who do not already have a FBPL card, are recommended to come into the library with a parent or guardian before the tour day to make a library card. Please see How to obtain a library CARD for more information.

Contact: The Territorial Librarian @ (684) 633-5816 or email requests to barstowlibrary@yahoo.com

Please be ready to indicate organization name, contact name and phone number, age and number of participants involved, purpose of tour, and date and time requested.
